Joseleen Vargas Downs
Joseleen Vargas Downs is from the city of Bluefield’s, Nicaragua. From a very early age she always had a passion for the forest and animals nearby. She acquired a degree in Ecologia de los Recursos Naturales (Ecology of Natural Resource) at the Bluefield’s Indian & Caribbean University (BICU).
During the period of her studies, Joseleen took courses that related directly to her career. This included a course on environmental management in the community of Pearl Lagoon and Kaskabila, taught by FADCANIC in the municipality of Pearl Lagoon in the year 2013.
She has also completed a leadership course, taught by the Peace Corps in collaboration with FADCANIC in Jinotega Nicaragua 2013. Her native language is Creol but Joseleen is also proficient in Spanish and English. She has a certificate of completion of the program eight level English achieved in 2013.
Joseleen is part of the advance training course on climate research for the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua taught by the BICU University 2016-2017.
