Gabrielle-Jae Watson
Gabrielle-Jae was born and raised in Jamaica and attributes her close proximity to natural elements both coastal and woodland for her early appreciation for environmental stewardship. Throughout her years of formal environmental studies, there was always an environmental or social activist or service club that she immersed herself in, to complement her mission.
As a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a B.Sc. in Marine Biology and a M.Sc. (pending) in Natural Resource Management of Marine and Terrestrial Ecosystems, Gabrielle-Jae has gained practical field and management experience from working with both government and non-government organizations. When not rooted in the hills of the Blue and John Crow Mountains or diving in the near-shore waters of the Caribbean Sea, she spends some of her time teaching bible stories to kindergarten children in what I hope is a fun and interactive approach.
She hopes to use this experience through CLiC to broaden her network and regional conservation knowledge and experience so that she will be in a better position to make a difference in her home country.
