Jhulio Frederick
Jhulio Frederick (Sam) is an Agronomist, Dive master and Artist, who started his conservation related work back in 2000 when he enrolled as an Intern to the International Center For Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM). In the years that followed he became part of the Youth Environment Service Corps (Yes Corps) Program and Assistant researcher at the Guana Island Marine Science Month.
Ingeniero Agronomo he is, with a bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Nacional Experimental De los Llanos Occidentales, “Ezekiel Zamora” (UNELLEZ), Venezuela, Also, he is the holder of a Padi Dive Master card and various skills training certificates. He has worked with institutions such as the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), The Dominica State Collage and the Ministry of Kalinago Affairs.
Jhulio serves as an executive member of the Kalinago Youth Council and active member of the Salybia heritage and restoration project (SHARP). His most recent call came from the GEF SGP to stand on the National steering committee.
He comes from the Kalinago Territory, a 3700 acre indigenous reserve on the island of Dominica.
