Brian Pilcher
Brian Pilcher grew up while living in many places in the States, and even in Germany. I loved the outdoors. I majored in wildlife ecology for my B.S. and M.S. degrees and earned my certification as a wildlife biologist by The Wildlife Society, the professional society for wildlife biologists. I worked as a wildlife biologist and forester in Oklahoma, Montana, and Idaho for over 25 years.
I married a Montana girl who also was a wildlife biologist, so naturally we had a lot in common, including a bit later, our outgoing daughter. Living in small-town Montana did mean that I had to diversify for us to work out our dual careers. I did wildlife consulting while teaching some courses at the University of Montana--Western. I also had the good fortune to work with high school students at our university on natural sciences field projects by leading a math and science college prep program. I later took on the addition of a student success program for university students. I continued the student success work at St. George’s University in Grenada, then moved into full-time teaching in the Biology, Ecology, and Conservation Department. I teach General Biology, Mammalogy, Ecological Research Methods, and Scientific Technical Writing. I enjoy teaching, and technical writing is my favorite subject. Our lives are more full because of our dear students at St. George’s.
I am so pleased to have an opportunity to work with these young emerging leaders in the CLiC program.
